I need to find an original and modified file for Mercedes W211. I found some amount on different sites, but here's the trouble - they all for EDC16C31. In my car, there is EDC16C2 ECU, so the question is: can I use the file for this model, but for slightly different EDC?

And to eliminate future questions - can I in general case use a file, if it's for this car model, but for different EDC (I mean, if EDC are one type, because I understand that EDC15 and EDC16 have major differences). For example, the EDC in car and in the file are both EDC16, but the next numbers are different.
