Is JTAG disabled on ECUs?

Postby tmcdiscor » Thu Jun 29, 2023 12:56 pm

I was wondering if I can clone data using the JTAG interface in the Tricore Infineon TC1762, my ECU model is MEG17.9.12. I cannot really afford buying a K-TAG hardware or KESS.

So, do you think the JTAG interface was disabled? if so, how can reopen it, unless it's disabled permanently

It's BDM not J-Tag, also you need Bootmode for reading

Is that what the K-Tag uses in their hardware?, I couldn't find resources on BDM, can you please provide me with some.

I know that they uses KTAG, but my initial question is why they don't use JTAG instead? did the manufacturer put limitations on the use of that protocol ?

JTag is a very different thing, ECU's don't have JTag
What you think is JTag is actually a BDM port
