I wonder if anybody already reverse engeneered the communication of a VAG CAN-Gateway. I currently have the 7N0 907 530T CAN Gateway produced by Continental and used by the VAG Companies.
I started a diagnostic sessions with Carport and captured the generated traffic. Carport tells me the protocols being used would be KWP2000, with ISO-TP as transportation protocol on the CAN bus.
I started to analyze the traffic and found some interesting things. Actually the transportation protocol being used is NOT ISO-TP. It is pretty similar, but has some mayor differences.
It would be interesting to know if anybody else already found out the things I did. Do you know anybody who reverse engeneered the protocols of VAG?
