Tool for MB W906 Sprinter (EDC16CP31?)

What can I use to read/write to a EDC16CP31 on a MB sprinter? Its only for private use and probably only be used once! S ocheaper is better. I'd rather do it through the OBD2 port, but would consider BDM as a backup.

Can I use something like MPPS v12 clone? and/or BDM100 as a backup in case I brick the ECU? Don't want to spend much $ on this.

First make a full backup with BDM. After that you can try with MPPS over OBD.

hey brother...
be darn careful about that specific ecu (edc16cp31) the bdm points are at the back (the other side) of the ecu... so be very very careful when opening the ecu... i have failed twice in that ecu.. the price of the new one is a bomb....
