I'm no expert and I'm still learning, but..
The Drivers wish lowers as the revs rise to get to, and maintain a speed.
Its kind of an addition to what you have. So at 30 mph, say 1250rpm, and 20% pedal pressed, at some point on a flat road your speed will reach its maximum speed and stay/cruise. To go faster you need to request more, by pressing the pedal more, say to 40% and then, at some point (as the DW requests slowly drops as the rmps/speed increases) you get to a new max speed as you are no longer requesting more.
As a side note, by changing the DW lower values, I made a mates car not 'jump/lurch' so much if he takes his foot off the pedal and re-applies. Made his driving softer and less sickening!
If it didn't tail off as the rpms rise, then no matter what speed, rpm, you are going, any request will just keep increasing.
I wouldn't like to test what happens with my car! The way it works is that it gives the impression of speed lower down. Some people have changed this to a linear wish, so 5% pedal gives 5% of total torque, 50% gives 50%, and the only way to get full torque at any speed in any gear is to hit the floor with the pedal. But still with this, it needs to tail off as rpms increase. This would give you much finer control of what happens with power, as at the moment only 20% pedal requests nearly half of total Nm.

Your DW may request nearly 300(but its only a request, you could change it to 500!), but instantly the torque limiter will cut this until your revs/speed rise. Most tables only calibrate to 40 IQ, and a VERY limiting factor is the smoke/lambda map, which over most of it will be approx. 20-35, which on the conversion map will be approx. 200-250 Nm.

I'll help as much as I can on understanding things, but all the information is out there, its taken me 6 months to get this far and I still don't know if my map is comparable to a pro stage 1. Try looking on this, and other forums as there are only couple of us with this ECU/car but you can pick up hints as we have progressed and posted.

Thanks buddy for your help, a well explained explanation! I have looking at getting max mpg from my xsara and been modding the boost, lambda and egr off. I have lowered the boost so that there is minimum backpressure so lower egt.

The last version I reduced the boost to much and I can feel the engine dying and missing a little as not enough boost to support the iq.

I have looked at a members (RELIC) simulation programme and have been trying to adapt it to the edc16c34 from the Honda Civic 2.2 Icdti ecu 16C31 I think it is.

If I can convert it will be a useful tool but I am struggling.

Do you have a device to monitor the N75, Boost (act vs requested),air flow etc,????? I have a lexia but I don't think it measures them like a drive recorder.

I used to have a Honda Civic 2.2 icdti and Relic used to help me out big time, he is a legend and a top bloke. He has taught me so much! I have a Honda HDS and that was a drive recorder and I could alter the N&% settings as to get the boost on the prime line of compressor map.

I don't know the values of the turbo we have on our edc1634 (Mitsubishi TD025S2-06T4) I cannot find any information on it so that I put the turbo values into the simulator???

The simulator looks up the ecu values and plots graphs to look at like power output and torque, boost, etc, etc.

The only logging that I've done is through pp2000 and PCMScan? and both I use a freeware screen recorder so I can play it back, sometimes recording through the MIC what gear I'm in etc. Basic, but gives a little info. PP2000 only shows a few items per screen so not that useful for a full blown log

I too am looking for extra economy from my car. The next map I try will have lower boost 0-1750rpm/0-20IQ, no EGR, and I've also lowered the lamda in the same region to about 19AFR from the 16 it had and smoothed out to stock levels by 30IQ/2250rpm

I may be able to test this later today (driveability at least not consumption) but I obtained severe tissue damage to my ankle on Friday after an accident so may have issues :(

Others I see have found a magical EGR correction map for VAGS for SOI, I always hoped there was one for PSA, but still looking in hope

Hello,

I am currently investigating the changes on my mapping, made by a remapper.
As I can see, the drivers wish has now values up to 444Nm (Original file has DW up to ~360Nm). So far so good, but the IQ vs NM map seems to be limited to 350Nm on the X axis. Does this mean the drivers wish is topped of to 350Nm as well?
