So I have a firm grasp on dumping bin files through OBD and BDM, etc. And I also know a little bit about finding maps in bin files, etc. But I don't know too much about the actual tuning portion of all of this. I can get to a point where im ready to tune and have some data logs in hand, but haven't got any further.
Im looking for some videos or tutorials on the very basics of tuning (once you have a bin and maps/definitions already established). Basically I want to know where to "find" horsepower. Which maps and where are the best places to find untapped horsepower. Im assuming that having to comply with emissions forces auto makers to make some compromises as far as power goes but beyond that i'm unsure where to start looking. Also, what should I be looking for in the data logs that would point to "inefficiencies"?
What does a typical tune consist of as far as map changes (assuming that we're not going for maximum possible horsepower, but just a run of the mill basic tune)
