Hi guys,

I found an original file for my ECU thats in my dads Caddy and proceeded to modify it... The file is 256KB in size and I presume is both hi/lo files joined together?

I made modifications, exported file as two 8 bit (128KB) files, socketed the ECU and placed hi lo chips in their original places however i'm not having any luck...

The actual ECU i'm using as a replacement is an 038 906 018 bl with bosch1988 1037356588 07.b460.1 HHH45 EPROMs,

I have copied the original ECU immo chip data over from the original 038 906 018 FK ECU.

The only PLCC32 chips I could lay my hands on that looked ok are SST395F010A... are they ok?

Programmer i'm using is a GQ-4x, I tried duplicating the contents of each 128kb portion to fill the full 1024kb but still the same result.

The glow plug remains unlit with ignition switched and the engine doesn't run, no communication with ECU through OBD either. All pins looked like they checked out with a multimeter on the sockets

Can someone help? Have I done things correctly? Perhaps the sockets aren't very good and I should solder chips direct to the board? I have attached the original file here...
