what to change when upgrading MAP sensor

Hi, I'm still fairly new and my searches on this forum haven't returned much.
I have a 1.9tdi MK5 Golf, 105 ps BKC edc16 and need to replace the turbo and upgrade to a 3 bar map sensor for the new turbo.
My car has already been remapped by AMD and the tuner wont return my original files to me.
If I am successful at pulling the data from the ECU (told its encrypted but I'm not certain), how and what changes need to be made for the new sensor? I assume the incorrect reading would throw an error and limp mode.

You must change boost sensor linearisation map

Thank you for the reply, is that something i can do without altering the rest of the map so it's running the turbo at the same values as the last one? I don't feel I'm ready to do a full remap yet, I've still got some more learning to do. I'm happy with the power at the moment just can't afford for the current turbo to fail and cause damage.

Yes you can only change boost sensor linearisation map without altering the rest of the maps.

If your car has original engine parts and normal tune there is no need for bigger MAP sensor.

new turbo is from a pd130, my current is a pd105 with a stage 1 map.
The pd130 cars have a 3bar map sensor and the pd105 has a 2.5bar map sensor(if im not mistaken)
so i figured despite the remap, the 2.5bar sensor wont work too well with the pd130 turbo

The right questions here is - How much boost you are planing to use in your engine. Then you can decide do you really need the bigger MAP. Standard remaps boost around 1.20 bar depending on the HP claimed by the tuner. This boost is well in the MAP sensor range.

Using bigger turbo dose not require bigger MAP sensor. You will need to make some VNT adjustments for the bigger turbo to work properly.

I dont know why i didnt think of that. boost gauge reads 24psi (~1.5 bar) but i will check vcds logs to be accurate.
if weather is okay i will change the turbo and drive it as is and see how it goes. what adjustments should i be making, do you mean to adjust the actuator arm or limiter in a certain direction to keep it flowing a similar rate to the 105 turbo?

Well if the turbo is well adjusted, mechanically speaking, i advise you not to modify it. After you exchange your turbo, do a test run, log boost pressure and then if car over boosts you can fine tune it from N75 duty cycle map
