Enable VGT turbo controll to EDC16C34

Postby mbex_pt » Thu May 30, 2013 7:53 pm

Hi,

I'm wondering if is possible to add geometry control to a an engine that has a fixed geometry once that the ECU in some engine models has this control. The ECU model is the EDC16C34 and the engine i'm referring is the DV4TD. I know that the engine has a vacuum pump and by adding a N75 is possible to achieve this without adding additional hardware like a CAN bus sniffer to look into TPS, RPM and MAP with an actuator for the N75.

compare 1.6 HDi and 1.4 HDi 50 kW (both EDC16) engine management wiring diagrams, and take a closer look of the pin for the N75 valve, if it's free on 1.4... If the pinout is very similar, and N75 pin on your ECU is free, then it's worth to try, you just need an oscilloscope, a pulldown resistor and to enable the electronic boost control bit to try..

307 1.6 HDi has an E1 pin (on the ECU) for N75 valve, and it's open collector (the other pole on the valve is +12 V), while E1 pin on 307 1.4 HDi is for the coil of one of the relays for engine management system. Both for cars older than 6. 2004. I don't have diagrams for newer cars.
