Boosting 1.9tdi ASZ

Postby Kanzi1 » Mon Jun 10, 2013 7:33 am

Hi all, I'm completely new to ecu tuning but luckily I'm a fast learner 8-) . I recently purchased a map(before discovering this website) and it made a slight(165bhp) difference in power, not what I expected, the thing is the boost comes much later than before( above 2500rpm). Is it standard or safe for the boost to come in later than earlier? My original map was more exciting in the lower ranges.

Some companys tune for max torque around 2250-2500 rpm to save the clutch, so this might be the case with this one. How old is your car and mileage? Do you have the tuned file you could post so people can help you out further?

Hello I will have a look at your file soon at work at the moment and I will be able to tell if this is what has happened. They may have moved when the torque comes like I said to extend clutch life.

Was this file from a good tuner? And is the BHP proven?

I haven't proven the power to be what is claimed, and yes a good tuner. I just got the map and loaded it myself. Please do and let me know where to go. I'll just lock myself in the house and start reading up on ECU editing  Thanks again there Rowly.

Do you have the original file too please? I have had a quick look and can't figure out why your saying it drove better on original file. Have you had anything done to your car recently cambelt, etc?

Have you had any work carried out on the vehicle lately? The reason I ask is because you can change the cam advance mechanically so if the cambelt was changed recently this may have been disturbed, but then this should be noticeable even on standard map just not as much maybe.
