EDC-15 VW GOLF IV 1,9 TDI AGR

Hello all :) Not sure if its right section to post but :) here we go :)

So what I want is to cihip my VW GOLF MK4 1998 with AGR 66kw engine. What you would recommend for a beginner From what I should start? What equipment I gonna need? What software?

So far I know that I need, hot air station, 2xPLCC32 sockets, 2xAM29F010's, chip programmer, PLCC32 to DIP32 adapter.

I have found thease :

SOCKET : http://www.tme.eu/lt/details/plcc-32-smd/plcc-lizdai/

and

CHIP : http://www.tme.eu/lt/details/am29f010b- ... spansion/#

Is it ok that socket got extra leters SMD and chip got extra B letter in the end? Thanks for reply in advance

But what about the program part? There are 2 chips? 1 For engine and 1 for turbo? correct me if I am wrong. How to split it?

And also most inportant thing :) What can I do with my 10,6 VCDS :) gonna get galletto 1260 soon :)

Ps: My ecu can't be flashed because it is using EPROM chips? And all EEPROM chips are flashable?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!! Arminas :)

Hi,at first desolder two chips, read it with some programmer, than booth files join in one file in Win Ols (Low and High) and start to modify. At the end when you have an modified file, separate again in two files Low and High flash it in both new chips 29f.
In your picture first chip on the bottom left side is "High" second is "Low" ;)
Course it`s better to use socket for a new chips.

Are these chips EEPROMs? Is there any way to flash them using the OBD port?

Like I say before you must use some programmer, not galletto or mpps. And use it that socket and that chips 29f010, thay can be read and write only with programmer like willem, beeprog ...

just keep in mind you cant read/write vag diesel engines above 1999 with the flasher...
From 2000 year and up it can be read/write with flasher (like mpps, galletto)
