Online tuning companies

Hi guys, just wondering what's the consensus on these tuning companies that take your ECU data, modify it and return for flashing? I've seen a lot of obvious cowboys, but I've heard good things about hdi-tuning. It's a one man show, and I originally saw him post over on tdocuk.com. He has made a comparison between one of his remaps and a generic eBay remap here, which looks impressive to me, although I'm not too familiar with the process yet. I've no affiliation, and I'm going to try my hand at making my own modifications first. I am wondering if it would be a mistake to load up something modified by these guys though?

Hi Well,

We are a online tuning company as well with a tuning Garage, we tune 30 to 40 cars a month!! AT OUR SHOP

So its the same thing. You could bring your car to our workshop or you could literally just send us the the ECU readout.

The difference with the Online File Function is the following.

If we tune your car in our workshop you are guaranteed that your ecu will not be broken (BRICKED) And should it happen for any strange reason we have the tools to flash your ECU back to its original state (Bench Flash)
If you send us the original readout we make sure that the file will work on your ECU and that the checksums have been checked but we can not guarantee that your tool will brick your car's ECU.

Thats about it.

So it all comes down to (YOUR TOOL) Do you trust your tool enough to know it will not brick your ECU when loading the new file?
