AFR for max power in diesel engines

Hi. Thats an interesting quistion. What Afr for max power in diesel engines? Where car produse not much smoke and best power output. stoichiometric is 14.5 there the lamba value is 1 for diesel engines. If we set afr to 13,8 what do we get?

you get lots of smoke. Stick to around 17-18:1. 17,5:1 for the most interesting result. Lower ratio produces smoke, higher ratio doesn't enable to get the most power of your engine.

i think that you are not right, i set afr to 14.7 in bmw 335d e60 - no visible smoke - may be a little. - car and dpf delete in this car

for racing only i use 12.5 , it smokes so much it leves a permanent trail on road but gets more power than with 14.5 , and also egt is too high but for drag race who cares
