Hey All,
My name is Bryn and I live in Haverfordwest, West Wales. I`m a long time Vw enthusiast, having been into mk2 golf`s for over 15 years.
One of my current projects is a mk2 golf track car build, which I`m fitting with an asz code vw tdi pd 130 engine, along with big turbo and limited slip diff, full welded in cage, polycarbonate windows, stripped interior.
I`ve had the loom made and have a couple of ecu`s to run, which is what has lead me here, I need to run the ecu`s immo off, as I`m keeping the mk2 clocks.
To that end I`ve been searching the web for info on immo defeating edc15 ecu`s. I`ve bought a willem programmer, an soic test clip etc, and in theory have a rough idea of what I`m supposed to do, just not any actual practical experience with anything remotely similar and possibly not the level of soldering skills to re attach the eeprom.
I`m also curious about Galleto and the possibility of learning how to flash re map files.
I Am a lot happier wielding spanners, but would rather spend some time and money buying the tools and learning how to do things myself than pay someone else to do it for me an learn nothing.
In the meantime, I`m off to have have a look round the forum, read up what info I can find, then I`ll be back, probably with a bunch of newbie questions ;)
