Hello guys,
I have some kind of drama :)
Must remove dpf on sprinter with edc16 c32 with M58BW016xB. I read the external flash BDM with XProg-M and all was fine. Then I removed the dpf switches and so on. I write back the M58BW016xB with the modified file and the car don't want to start anymore.
Then I remember that I forgot to fix the checksums, so I opened the modified bdm dump with WinOLS and a strange (first time see) message appear that navigate me to the following address: http://www.evc.de/en/service/q1608.asp
So as I understand, probably I'll have immo problem or checksum problem. Tomorrow I'll read the car to see the immo state, then I'll reupload the fixed checksums dump to the car, but I got 2 questions.
1. What peoples mean when they said "If the checksums are not OK, you'll brick the ECU"?
Is that means that if I "brick the ECU" and after that I rewrite the original dump, it will stay bricked forever?
2. Is there someone who can give me some tips about that 'Virtual EEprom" where the immo data is stored and how can I change the maps and switches in the dump without mismatch the virtual eeprom data?
Thanks in advance!
