Rail pressure precontrol

Postby Alex.T » Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:37 pm

I have been raising rail pressure to 1450 bar, but when I accelerate heavily, right after 3000rpm engine stops.
PP2000 says Maximum pressure exceeded!
I tried everything but nothing changed....

I edited SVRPLs, Diagnostic pressure limiter and Rail pressure limiter.
Even if I put all of them at 1500bar I always exceed maximum pressure and engine stops :x

In Rail pressure map I request 1450bar.

The problem MUST be Rail pressure precontrol map :!:

I don't understand this map.. please help me

I'll post this map of my 2.0 and from 2.2 just for comparison, why are they so different?

Hi.
Is that the same map like in rate my tune?
That i can take a look the whole map to see where the problem is.

Precontrol map is regulating how much fuel will go back to the fuel tank; and less it goes to the tank more it goes to the rail.
I need a map to look at.

The error you are mentioning also happens if you did not find all single value rail pressure limiters.

The map I use is basically the stock one, but extended to 1500bar.
It's the same from rate my tune thread I opened earlier.
Thanks

Higher value in this map = More open valve = more fuel to tank = less rail pressure ?

OR higher value in map = higher rail pressure :?:

Higher value - more closed valve,
less fuel to the tank - more pressure.

This map is very tricky,
you realy have to know what are you doing.

This means that I shoud lower values in the 1500bar column.
That way I can have lower pressure and I should not exceed MAX anymore..

Thanks for clarifying

What is the maximum value of this map?
I see my 2.0 has a maximum of 42,0
But 2.2 has 48,5

If 0 (zero) is completely closed valve, what value is completely open?

You did not read my post correctly.
I said higher value ---> more closed valve --> more pressure

and after that you are asking again:
Alex.T wrote:If 0 (zero) is completely closed valve, what value is completely open?

If 100% - completely closed - max pressure
If 0% - completely opened - no pressure

You have very good manual here on the site.

About your new column, put 1450, it is enough you do not need 1500 there.
Lower the values and try it again.

You did not answer if you changed injection duration map correctly, I said that this is also same problem if you do not tune your rail pressure axis in ID map correctly.

I do not understand your question about maximum, what maximum? What do you want to know, how much can you change=?

Rail pressure precontrol map is NOT your problem.

MISTYPED, sorry.
I was asking if zero is completely open, what is the maximum value this map can have?
Is it 100 like 100% or is it 50 like 5 Volts ?
ecuedit wrote:You did not answer if you changed injection duration map correctly.

I extended it up to 1500bar.

Then what is it?

Did you guys take a look at what we're talking about?

I see noone downloaded it yet...

So is this precontrol like a calibration thing.
N75 is used to calibrate the boost pressure deviation.. so that actual = requested.
Rail Precontrol is used to calibrate rail presure deviation.. so that actual = requested.

Or am i completely off target :?

OP: I think this is a duty cycle ...range is 0-100%
