right iv been trying to flash a map or two to my car and not been able to do it through the obd2 port with mpps in my car
so next step was to remove cluster still the same no reply from ecu
so made up a bench flash cable from scrap yard and ecu pin outs same ...no reply from ecu
so time for bootmode ( here we go )
opened up the ecu to be greeted with this


stumped
what is this and how did it end up in my ecu ?

my question is
there is a chip[ under the bridge inside that soldered thing
would this be stopping me flashing the rom
would I be able to remove this and solder the chip on top back in place so I will be able to flash again from obd 2 ?

any help would be awesome

This ECU is already tuned by somebody. The board that connects the flash chip to the ECU is used to protect the content of the flash from reading thru OBD port. If you like to make your own remap, you must desolder the board and solder the flash chip directly to the ECU main board. Then you can flash the ECU thru OBD port.

im able to read the map just not wright it back onto the chip
guess its blocking it from wrighting

Can you open the map and see all the maps in correct shape?

Are you willing to post the map that you have taken out the ECU?

its not my cable as iv flashed an me7.5 ecu with it
have made two bench flashing cables

does any one know where I can get a daughterboard with out the encryption chip on ?

the only place I can find one is on the evc website and as im not a customer and cant see a way to open an account
have phoned them and they told me to wright an email and 30 mind later office closed
any pointers guys?
