How do I identify my HW / SW version for the map from my ECU?

Golf 5 2.0 TDI 140hp
Bosch EDC 16U34
VAG 03G906021KK

engine code - BKD

Is this information stored in the .bin file?

The reason I ask is that if there is a newer version of the original file, I would like to compare the differences to learn.
