hdi tuning guides

hi. im new to the tuning world. and currently doing remaps with a kess v2 slave. but looking to learn to tune my own files in the future. ive bought an mpps master and read the file off my own personal car witch was tuned buy my master tuner (percentage tune) so wanting to learn on that car first and improve on his file. ive got a 2002 citroen xsara Picasso 2.0hdi and was wondering what guides there are for tuning this ecu.
I believe its a edc15 but every guide I see for this ecu uses vw pd'd for examples witch is confusing
when I read the file it came up as edc15 110hp but when I speak to people they keep say its the 90hp but I thought this was a siemens ecu

sorry for all the questions but ive got more

if mine is the 110hp does that mean the turbo boost is controlled by the map as I believe the 90hp is not.

What is the engine that you have??

I believe the Picasso shares the same engine as the pug 206 and 306. (Dw10td)

I know 206 comes in two flavours 90 and 110. The only mechanical differences between them is an intercooler.
This enables the charge to be cooler (and more dense) to allow more fuel to be injected. More power produce more power etc.

So far as the ecu goes. Probably best to open the bonnet and look at the sticker on the top there is information online that either ecu (Bosch or Siemens) could be used on this engine.

it doesn't have an intercooler so will be the 90hp

u want to find a guy on ecu connections called prosteve or mr whippy

i used to have a 306 that he mapped to 150bhp on a stage 2 map with front mount inter cooler
he is very helpful and knows his stuff
all the pug forums rate him so prob best to pick his brains to be honest

good luck trying to get any help from the pros :? except one or two but they don't tend to give much away and let you do the hardwork/learning yourself ;)

Your lucky though, the EDC15C2 is a very easy ECU to learn on (well by easy, I mean in comparison to the others) and relatively safe too. If something goes wrong it can normally be recovered...

There are lots of information here for Peugeot 2.0 and 2.2 HDI engines running EDC15C2. Even information from the 2.2 is very relevant, as its the same ECU with the same maps (with the exclusion of electronic turbo control on 2.0 HDIs - which is a good thing really as electronic turbo control is a pain to tune!).

I suggest trying to get your hands on WinOLS if you haven't already and look through the potential maps, as well as looking around the site to try and identify and find all the maps you need.

If you find a map in the 6XXXX range there will be a corresponding map in the 7XXXX range (and vice versa), if you make changes to one you must make changes to the other too!

Don't bother looking for Turbo/Boost/N75 maps you won't have them ;)

One final point, your maps might be at slightly different addresses than in ecuedit's PDF (as you have a Citroen) but those maps will be in your bin somewhere!

I'm sorry to answer so late to this post, but I'm looking for informations about ECD15C2 2.0HDI and I find this thread like a lot of other newbies I suppose. That's why I want to correct a mistake : there IS electronic boost control on 2.0 HDi, not on all version

what I know about PSA :

2.0HDi 90hp => no intercooler, no electronic control of boost (a mecanic wastegate). N75/Boost maps are there but useless
2.0 HDi 110 hp => intercooler, electronic boost by vaccum valve (the same than egr, fitted near.). You can tune N75/Boost maps.

Except some "hybrid" engine for professional use, that are very uncommon : there is a 2.0Hdi 90hp with is mounted with intercooler and electronic control. Some peugeot partner, citroen berlingo.
