How to find EGR map?

Postby jason_rmh » Sun Sep 01, 2013 9:49 pm

Hi All,

Im new to ecu tuning and so starting with the EGR map.
I have my bin file, opened in WinOLS.

How do identify my EGR map?

I have been reading this guide which give a good visual example:
https://sites.google.com/site/vagecumap/winols-making-map-changes

How can I be sure I have definately identified the egr map? Is there anything else to look for?

Thanks
Jason

The most accurate answer is by trying - in case you have a vacuum EGR, you can try it by hands. If you have an electric actuator, you have to check it by OBD scanner.

I have done some logging on my car and egr value ranges from 480 (idle) upto 1275 (wide open throttle) not sure if this helps with anything?

Vacuum operated EGR.

I have search my file in WinOLS and found what I think is the EGR map...
Can some one confirm (See images)...

At location 1C4C32, on left of 2d, value = 8000
At location 1C4C32, on right of 2d, value = 8300

Should I set all values to 8000 to complete EGR off map?
This is an EDC 16U34 ECU.

I was unable to link to images on photobucket so had to attach them.

Thanks

according to my friend's Golf 2.0 TDI, this should be the correct map.
