Understanding ECU software

Postby Kid » Wed Sep 18, 2013 12:27 pm

Hi,
Can somebody help my with my following problem? I know how everything works in a car and what Chiptuing does in a Car.
I'm looking for documentation about understanding the software of the ECU itself.
Where to look for in the maps with WINOLS, how do the maps look like in 2D / 3D for tuning? Where are the limits, ... ?

Thanks for the help !

Best regards,

Kid

Maybe it is good to start by comparing same software with different power output.

I surely understand your answer, and I can see the differences, but then it's still the question: what has been changed? Tubopressure, fuelpressure, fuelamount, EGR, .... ?

Are there books where to learn more about these things?

Best regards,
