Hi guys,
I have got Skoda Octavia I, 2003, 1.8T, 4x4, engine code is ARX, 150HP/110kW (torque 210Nm).
As far as I know, there were several modifications of engine 1.8T in Skoda Octavia, e.g.:
- older AGU with 150HP which has older turbocharger K03 (in vehicles year 97-00)
- newer AUQ with 180HP which has newer turbocharger K03s (in vehicles year 00-05) - used in Octavia RS
- also newer ARX with 150HP which has also newer turbocharger K03s (in vehicles year 00-05) - used in Octavia 4x4 like mine
I would like to know, what is the reason of that my Octavia 4x4 (ARX) does have only 150HP while Octavia RS (AUQ) has got 180HP, considered that they use the same turbocharger. Are there any other significant differences between these engines or is it only due to marketing strategy like: "RS (sporty style hi-hatch) should always have more power than others, including 4x4, so it is limited only in ECU maps"??
