Ford 1.8 TDCi & 1.6 TDCi - which HW to start with?

Hello All,

can you suggest something to read/write ECUs in Ford Engines?
1.6 TDCi is a french enging with EDC16. And what ECU is used in 1.8 TDCi?
As far as I know this engine is not especially "user friendly" in terms of tuning...
At the moment I do not have any hardware but would like to buy something for my cars.
So your advices are really welcome.

HELLO

1.6 TDCI IS EDC16 AND THE BEST WAY TO WRITE IS BDM . It's safe and you can make back-up.

Focus 1.8 tdci what year and engine type ?

thanks for reply. 1.8 TDCi is an engin with manufacuter code KKDA 115 PS (fuel injection sys. Siemens). Year 2008.

1.8 tdci have different ECUs then 1.6 tdci - they have either SID202 or SID206 (late models)

I am interested in this too, especially 1.6 tdci with bosch EDC16, I seem to remember that I have read somewhere that it can be read/written thru OBD interface, is it true? and how about stability? or maybe BDM is the preffered method?
