Dont they use the glow plugs for cylinder pressure reading now ?

I know there are pressure sensors that you buy and put instead of the glow plug.

BUT Pressure sensor inside STOCK glow plug
It would be awesome!! :D :D

I think we need admin to confirm this on our PSA DW10/DW12 engines

I found this
pressure-sensor-glow-plug-psg-for-diesel-engines-t276
I think our 406s have PSGs of some kind since the ECU corrects injection flow for every cylinder..

No, cylinder corrections are based on crank acceleration, the ECU can detect the acceleration of every firing stroke using the crank sensor and the 60 teeth on the flywheel and corrects the IQ's at idle to get them as equal as it can. Unfortunatly, nothing to do with pressure sensors!

Hi Alex, good to see you are working through this methodically!

Quick first comment about your file - getting better, but you might want to taper fuelling and boost off before 4000rpm, requesting 2500mBar and 70 mm3 passed 4000rpm is going to see your turbo wear very quickly, its only a small turbo on these engines! Try and keep the shape of the original torque limiter, so a peak and then tapers off towards higher engine speeds.

Also you might want to bring back the SOI at high revs and IQ a bit, 27 degrees is a bit much for 60 mm3. Either that or re-do the axis on this map as you have done on injection duration \ smoke etc. You could do a bit of damage running this much SOI I think.

I bet it feels a bit quicker now doesnt it :D You can still get a bit more fuel in in the 2000 - 3000rpm range I reckon too! (Of course I remember you saying your engine has done > 200,000km, so of course you might not be able to if it smokes to to worn components).

About what happens after 4000rpm, I'll work on Torque limiter. thanks ;)
Look here post1524#p1524 at 0-140kph_remap_step13.avi
Turbo usually stays between 2200 and 2300. It gets to 2300 sometimes... but it never gets to 2500 as requested :)
If I recall correctly, this turbo is rated for 1,3bar boost. So keeping 2300 shoudn't be a problem, right?
Right now turbo is very slow but I'll work on that as soon as I get rail pressure done the right way :D

I'll work on SOI too, thanks for the tip.

It feels quicker now, not a lot because I still get limited by smoke, but it's very responsive after playing with rail pressure :D

Looking in the AVI from your other post, your fuelling doesnt seem to hit 70mm3 either, only gets to 67mm3 very briefly as far as I can see. Temp limiters look ok, so you have something limiting your IQ somewhere too. :(

HINTS:
You might want to post a video\log showing airflow through the MAF.
Also take a look at the smoke map and compare to the what you are seeing threough the MAF and then look at the IQ values for that airflow ;)

As I said, I'm limited by smoke limiter...
I attach a log I had where you can see airflow is not very good, but neither is turbo.
You cans see turbo struggles to get to 2100.
Now turbo is ok, it gets to a least 2200 but I still have to work on turbo and smoke limiter
