Hello to all, as my first topic I would like to propose a big problem.
A customer has for months a touareg 2004 5.0 v10 stopped due to a faulty ECU .
I state that this customer has made the rounds of various people who eventually failed , so I found an ECU already disassembled with a lot of e2prom already fused back together ( I guess they read the file for the immo ) .
I realized immediately that the person who tried to restart the machine has completely ignored that the car has dual ECU edc16u1 , certainly convinced that he had only one ( because the first was not removed) .
The first thing I did was to clone the faulty ECU working with another . With the original ECU would not start even before the starter , with that cloned , but the car would not start .
I made a diagnosis with vcds and I discovered that on both units I get the error on e2prom with written MIL ON .
From here on in darkness :
The problem is that I do not know what has happened to the people before me , but most of what they put in is blessed e2prom .
I tried to open the second ECU and make a backup of everything.
I compared the files of the first and second ECU with a dial gauge track , and I noticed that the files read are all the same except the contents of the respective e2prom , than however remain the same no frame.
with a program I tried to remove the immo for avoiding problems but nothing always the same error.
I hope I have not kept you sleepy , but my questions are as follows :
1 ) what is the master and the slave ECU ?
2) The ECU must have exactly the same files , or the master must differ in something with the slave ?
3 ) the problem for the start-up is in the files of e2prom ?
4 ) someone has a backup with the respective ECU read in bdm ?
5 ) there is a file so-called "virgin" that allows me to put the machinery in motion without considering the immo and the distinction between master and slave ?
Thanks in advance to those who can give me an answer . i have translate from google..
