Boost Map Selection

Postby Relic » Mon Aug 27, 2012 1:42 pm

Anybody here help on this one ?

Developing a remap for my car but I am going for eco as well as power upgrade.
I have two different boost curves made.
One for maximum power sitting at the surge line.
One for max economy sitting at the prime efficiency line of the compressor map.

Problem is I have 3 boost maps that are different and I dont know which is engaged and for what purpose.
If one is part throttle, and one full throttle then I should use the eco curve and boost curve on seperate maps.
If they are for engine temps, dpf or egr,
....then I would need both curves on all maps.

So I need to find an answer to this before modding the boost maps.
Any advice appreciated.

I have identified/tested atmoshperic, pedal, main and all gear torque limiters.
I have identified and tested the EGR maps and have them locked in standby mode, cut the duty% with no errors.
I now want to start work on the boost maps before touching any fueling and torque limiters.

A master of ECU tuning told me that, on EDC16 several maps are loaded, the car uses depending on the country of destination.
So, I guess, the ECU selects the map based on ambient temperature, atmospheric pressure, etc?
Or they are told at the end, which is the destination.

Automatic Atmospheric selector.
Surprising.
I was half expecting a preset based on model.

Perhaps that is the same thing.
