New to all tuning!

Hello I'm here to learn about tuning the old vp37 system. Q1: Can i kill the hardware (a4 b5 edc15) by putting in faulty ( by me!) software. Q2: what programming equipment is suiteable for a beginner? (so many to choose from :) )

Hello,
1. yes you can brick that ecu if you write unsuitable file, but an experienced tuner can recover it.
2. for beginners you should take a look at MPPS.

Most importing thing its you write back to the ECU file with same HW & SW number, beacuse if you write file from another car you can lock ECU and car will not start or maybe it will start but the ECU will be locked and you cant write any other files or original back beacuse ECu wont let you...

Mpps: for my opinion its a stable tool for VaG cars and as a beginner you can start with Mpps tool ;)

And the last thing be careful about voltage while flashing the car, you need to have more then +12V or flashing can stop and you can brick the ECU. Some BMW and other cars even request more then +13V voltage to start flashing but for my opinion +12,5V its stable enough for safe flash

Only buy original mpps.

Depends what route you want to try. I am probably going to sell all of my cloned stuff and get an original due to poor performance and software limitations. Buying a cheap clone was / has been useful to help me read/write ecu's but the complex stuff is better done with up to date software with support.
