On EDC15 in most cases you have 2 banks, but only one is active. Generally Bank 2 is for manual transmission, and bank 5 is for automatic.
You can change used bank by changing ECU coding with VCDS on VAG cars. So you can have 2 different maps and switch easy with laptop in minutes without reflashing ECU

Newbie here!
So you saying that all those maps that I can find as duplicates, only one of them is used and if I have manual gearbox then for me that would be first map on the list?

Where exactly in VCDS you can switch between those banks. I have only recently bought my first car and I really want to completely understand how everything work in it. I have bought VCDS and would love to learn more about that as well!

So far I have got bin file for my car from internet based on engine code and have been luck to find most of maps.
Unfortunately can' t find much info on how exactly tune those maps as whatever I try to search I have been redirected to some forum where I have no rights to download those tutorials about mapping EDC 15.

A co sie stanie jak tylko zmieimy jeden bank wsadu?

Wynika z tego że przy użyciu VCD można zmieniać bank. teraz pytanie czy można podczas jazdy? Bo było by to bardzo wygodne, zrobić 2 mody i przy jednym wgraniu testować :thumbup:

you can change with vagcom:

-go to "Engine"
-Enter in "Login" and insert the code "12233" and press "OK"
-Enter in "Recode"
-Will appear the code 00002 (or not if already active automatic gearbox)
-change to 00001 and save!

The code 00001 is automatic gearbox and 00002 is manual gearbox.

I share your pain, as I am only starting to open the can of worms that is file editing. I have been working with cars for 20 years
and I even go as far as reading and writing the files into the ecu but I have never edited a file. I have downloaded the trail version
of Winols and started to look at a EDC16 from ford focus 1.6 TDCI, but honesty I have no idea how to find a map. I can seem them in the 2d, 3d and text version but my problem is I don't know which map is which, how do you know you are looking at the EGR, Boost, Torque maps, how can you tell them apart from each other.
