Removing torque limit for the gears

Postby cableguy » Tue Jan 07, 2014 9:55 pm

Hello!

I need help with removing the torque limit for the gears and maybe get out more power.

Rica engineering has made a reprogram to Sports Tune (which they say will give 255hp and 550nm) with egr and particle filter removed.

But they could not help me with monent limit for the gears.

I have rebuilt my Volvo 945 with a V70 D5 - 07 engine. Gear The gear ratio does not match then.

I have a 2mb file I've downloaded from the car with the mpps / SMPS v13.02 k-line

I have searched and searched if I could find any good software to play / teach myself a bit about modifying the maps a bit.

WinOLS seems very good but expensive, is there any other good?

Regards Tommy

I believe Tunerpro is something a lot of hobbyists start out with, as it was a free program a few years back...
Other then winols there isn't much decent out there, maybe ECM, but I don't know it...

at how much does it limit when in gears? ow high would you like them to be set?
Do you have ori file, as I am comparing with another, very similar one, but it looks like the gear limiters are raised quite a bit allready...
is the egr and dpf really off in your file? all dtc's still working?
I did find a bit that was switched off, but also some other maps that were zeroized and possibly some dtc tables which were altered...

in one of the gears they incidently changed one of the axis values, which I find rather funny

if the file I looked at is pretty much the same (but not sure on this) I would say it's a pretty poor tune btw...
mostly tuned with 15% on duration and higher TL (I fear for your clutch/gearbox in the long run, though they might be capable, I dont know), no changes on railpress, soi not modded to suit the duration map...

I do not want a torque limitation on any gear.

When the engine limits the torque will lower the boost to 0.2 bar and laps "only" 4000 rpm , typically 4700 max. Throw it in the next gear so maybe that gives full effect but depends on the rpm when I shift .

The car is purpose built and has a race clutch and a BMW gearbox , large aluminium intercooler exc ... so it should withstand a lot of torque .

The file that I have laid out , Rica made and they call it the Sport Tune. Should the deliverable 253hp and 548Nm

They did charge a lot for that software.

I have no problem with dtc 's in the engine management. Egr is off to 100% and I drive the car without a particulate filter.

I enclose my original file .

I have compared the files a bit simple in WinOLS trial version and some maps have been removed .

Is it possible to get more power , I would be happy. The car should still be economical :) But you can have different maps when on such holiday :)

Still lots of weird stuff...
But if it works it works
I'll try to remove all limitation from gear dependant limiters for you :D
If you'd like I could also mod some railpressure for you ;)

I would be very happy if you want to try to help me.

Raise rail pressure too.

Rica has raised the boost pressure from 1.2 to 1.5 bar. Do you think that you should raise it more to compensate for more dielsel? For high boost is not good for the turbo.

I came to think of that when I hooked up my car to my Autocom CDP automobile diagnosis and drove so stood the car just gave 460nm. even if I had the "full" turbo pressure.

I do not know if Rica software will give 548nm or if they just fooling me.

Can you see how and what they have modified in the map?
