Hardware, software, car or user falty?

Postby mrxxxsweden » Sun Jan 26, 2014 4:56 pm

I hope this subject is posted in the correct categoy.

I have during a few days searched the internet but never really seen the same problem/setup as mine.

I bought a KWP2000PLUS from ebay since it was suggested more stable than galetto. I installed it on my laptop running Win7 32bit using original drivers, no problems. Windows stated correctly that is was a USB to serial Kline unit (or something similar).

I went to my car (2004 C5 2.2hdi) with external power connected to both laptop and car. Whan KWP was connected, both green PWR and red VBAT is glowing. But only get "ECU not found". Sometimes i get a reading, but it only shows "00000000" and 0kb. That seems to happen only first attempt.

Yes, key/ignition is on, slow mode checked.

I really cant tell what the problem is, car? computer/os? Hardware? software? Me?

Any thoughts/suggestions is really appriciated

Kwp2000+ working good for me, problem is somewhere else. As I know this tool only works on xp.
