Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 90
Can anyone help. I had egr problems with the car. Had P042f P0490 & P0405

Had the egr "professionally" deleted. However The faults come back & Show EML light. After Code reading again its showing the same fault descriptions but with code P0000 instead on the original codes.
While the EGR is plugged in, It goes limp, runs badly & smokes excessively. But if i unplug it, then it runs perfect, However the EML lamp is on,.
Could someone take a look at the files for me and see what you think.

Based on your description "0000",
the tuner deleted error codes...he did not use correct switches.
Deleting error codes does not solve limp mode.

File has to be modified correctly and you should never have error codes like Pxxxx or 0000.

I have WinOls but still havnt a clue what to look for.. lol

Unfortunately many tuners do this I think.

Find a good tuner and not somebody that uses Volta or EcuSafe to make EGR OFF files. :D

This is what you need:

At Adriaci - The "pro tuner" did the EGR OFF via hysteresis maps like you suggested. This type of egr off can work only if the egr valve is still functional. At every start of the engine the ECU activates and deactivates the valve. If the valve is broken and frozen in one position the ECU will trow a DTC. In this case - P042F - EGR Control Stuck Closed. To fix this problem you must get a new EGR valve or make a correct EGR OFF.

The "pro tuner" deactivated the EGR when the engine is running and tried to mask the error codes for frozen egr at start up, but he ended with deleting the codes and blocking other non egr related codes. This is why the ECU flashes P0000.
