hi all in the near future i plan to upgrade my 206 2.0l hdi fuel rail sensor from a 1500 bar to a 1800bar sensor
as i plan upping rail pressure a litte over 1500bar

does any one know what 1800 bar sensor fits my car :?:

what sensor does the 1.6 hdi cars have as standard ?

I'm no expert at all, but are you sure you are not going to seize the fuel pump? And what about the injectors?
Which pressre would you want to achive? (I understand the standard pressure is 1500 bar, right?)

Feel free to shout at me since I have no idea of what I'm talking about :lol:

Use parts from 2.2HDI 170hp (dwB12ted4) 4HT engine.
Original rail is set at 1800 bar.

OdinEidolon in your engine 1350bar is original pressure. Your pressure sensor can go up to 1500bar.
redeye - you will probably like to go very near 1500bar, am i right?

if my stock sensor can go just below 1500bar with stable results i would be happy. just worried about the fuel cut if it goes over 1500bar . i would like better power from 3000 rpm to 4500 rpm

i am not thinking right here i forgot about the rail limiter map :oops:

just trying to understand how it works :)

if i put my multimeter on the centre pin off the rail pressure sensor i would expect 4.1 volts @ 1350 bar
so i guess i must raise my duty cycle on the pressure control valve to reach 4.4 volts on the multimeter should= just below 1500bar
as 4.5 volts at sensor= 1500bar
if i make mistake and raise duty on pre control valve map to reach 5v
i would expect a fault code
it would be nice to have a pressure gauge fitted :geek:

Seems to me that you do not understand how the system works. There are 1 sensor and 1 valve that control the rail pressure.
1 - The sensor that you measure (on the rail pipe) gives the ECU information of the current rail pressure and that is all that it does.
2 - The electric valve located on the high pressure pump controls the pressure in the rail. The valve is controlled by the ECU.
3 -The values in duty cycle precontroll valve map are % of closing the electric valve and not a voltage map. If you use 100% duty cycle you will raise the pressure to 1600 bar.
To correctly get the desired rail pressure you must use diagnostic equipment to log the car. Your way of measuring the output of the rail pressure sensor is wrong.

are you sure ? i read that duty cycle is Variable voltage control
Maximum voltage (maximum OCR)=Maximum pressure.
Minimum voltage (minimum OCR)=Minimum pressure.

i can log 1443 bar in pp2000 and have still have 4.1 volts at the sensor (1350bar)
so i do not trust diagnostic readings for rail pressure i think they are just rail requests

hi,
if you log 1443 thats OK, it is true rail pressure.
You can go even higher, and sensor will measure little more than 1500bar.

If you put rail map, limiter maps to 1450 and SVRPL to 1470 you will hardly brake 1500bar - for sure (tested over 100 times).

You can brake that limit and go up to 1510bar (but very hard) - I managed to get it only twice in bunch of tests, also rail sensor survived.

The problem can accrue if ECU detects the leak and closes the valve up to 80%,
but if you tune rail pressure precontrol value carefully, it wont happen.

1500bar sensor measures 1443 very nice (+-10bar).
This pressure is just enough for that hardware.

If you "over tune" rail pressure precontrol value, the ECU will detect and learn how to protect the rail.
Even if you close the valve up to 65% max value, it will close it only 58% or less - in a small period of time.

First ECU attempts will go up to near 65% but after few attempts ECU will decrease % of closing
to optimal value with stable desired rail pressure in different circumstances.

One question, when do you achieve 1443bar (which rpm? Check the Rail pressure map when 1450 starts,
and how late is that achievement).

If sensor shows too much I would not be concerned, but if the sensor would show 1443 and you will actually have 1500+ bar - that would be a problem ;) but I suppose you did not yet tune rail pressure precontrol value.
