Are you sure the 'Fuel Limiter' with axis starting at 32c is not actually inlet air temperature limiter??

This one IS the fuel temp limiter.


This one is also a fuel limiter in your document, but is it possible it is actually air temp limiter?


I also have no idea how to tune either of these maps, so am just increasing values in 'best case' (low temperature) scenarios.

If one was air temp and one fuel temp the 93 and 102c columns would not be identical.

Nice observation. So why does one fuel temp limiter go all the way down to 32C? I guess I need to look up at what temperature Diesel starts becoming unstable. To my knowledge 54C should be fine for flat out but this map seems to disagree

Fuel temp and coolant temp will drop to outside air temps if the engine isnt running.
These start to cut at 90c.
Most engines coolant run at 80c normally.

So these are basically saying cut the fueling if the engine starts overheating.

Another answer: limiters are limitting things,
what will you do if you want to be sure that you do not want to
hit one..with for example: TL ? ;)

The obvious answer is to raise the temp limiter clear of the newly defined torque limiter. I just need to know at what temperatures this is safe.

Another thought - could the temperature limiter map starting at 32c be for the coolant ? - in which case I should make sure the values for 32, 54, 64 and 84 are all above the torque limiter (so the TL is the limiting map) and leave values for 93 and 102 completely standard in case of an overheat (making the temperature limiter the limiting map) ?

If you are not sure which axis is what and you are sure for some map axis,
look for marker and than check if marker is the same on another map...
those two limiters have same markers and they are fuel temp limiters for sure.

About increasing the values you already have an answer, look our max torque value,
and make it that you do not hit it...

Avoid last column...

If engine is overheated should still be restricted so take care with modifications for high temp protect the engine.
