egr valve doesnt need to be switched off in map on 136 model.

Fit egr bypass and disconnect egr valve vacuum solenoid electric plug.

Had mine like this for years, runs fine, justs flag a code in ecu about egr control, but doesnt show cel light or cause running issues

Yep ,i cant see any check light engine, but when make a diagnoze i can see excess or AIR Mass..this will cause a lean mixture in that area..more air for the same fuel quantity is not always good.

would be minimal amount of air and wouldn't cause any running issues, diesels run lean when in low demand in any case.

Only old style egr system on these engines so fine to bypass.

Why when i block EGR physically i can feel an ignition delay and increasing of fuel consumption ?
As i see in EGR area, the injection is retarded, because warp gases from EGR heat the pre-combustion. IF block it, i think i have to advance injection in that area, and maybe some air adjustments. A cooled EGR is not really a bad thing as one noncooled.

EGR cooled or not check your intake on a car that has enabled and disabled EGR and see the difference. After 5 years of EGR-on, your intake will be only 85% efficient as a clean one.

+ It can never be as cold as CAI.

Pre-injection is for cooling the cylinder, it's the only proper way. Not this eco stuff that factories use to make our ride "efficient" :)

Good explanation :) After some researching i have conculusion that EGR must be OFF. For BMW edc15 136 hp still i have air excess error because i cant block it from software..i didnt find any way to block it..doesnt work same as VAG to put in EGR map max value.
I just blocked it physically and opened vanes with 10-15 %, good economy and good driveability.

I've blocked my EGR by a screw, but it's better set EGR hysteris to closed state.
I've bmw 320D, but after facelift 150hp version

I blocked it from software too now and with blank plate.
