Its a Denso map sensor, its tiny and only has 3 electrical wires coming from it, which I am guesing are + - and signal. There is no extra output for IAT...

Anyway I am really struggling with getting data to calculate VE (PP2000 logging software just isnt up to the job, can't get all the required parameters on screen at once, so screen logging is no good, and theres no output to file). Getting IAT temps at manifold isnt happening either as I am not really up to tapping in a second IAT and getting measurements from it.

Going to have to take some educated guesses on this one.... coming soon to 'rate my tune' :?

Cant understand for the life of me why you would be taking tamperature at the inlet and not the manifold.
Peugeot has left me dumbfounded on that one :wtf:

Yeah... I dont envy you trying to figure out VE :(

You could use the version 2 VE formula with the ambient air temp.
Its not what garrett use though and the two have noticably different results.
Only time I use it is to compare intercoolers as the data is skewed using garrett VE due to the nature of the intercooler modifying air density.

The openoffice spreadsheet attached has various charts on each tab.
There is 3 datalogs overlaid in each chart.

Have a look at the VAF and VE 1&2 tabs.
One uses ambient and the other manifold.
The air temp increases with rpm at the manifold so the VE and VAF is shown as higher than on the ambient temp tables.

How much of a difference depends on how good the intercooler is at keeping air temps near ambient.

ok - so now you've forced me to install open office ;) i can actually see your graphs... i just have one thing i want to confirm

on the VE/VE2 graphs you have red, blue and grey plots...

I guess the red is high air temp and blue is low air temp - is this right?

Also what do the grey dots represent as they have a very high VE compared to the red/blue ??

There is 3 datalog tabs for the car with different modifications taken on different days.
Red, Blue and Black are the data taken from those datalogs.
The really low one was the OEM car before any modifications.

Hi, regarding intake manifold temp, you can try using a VAG type MAP sensor with built-in temp sensor and connect the temp wires from MAF to it. On 1,9 tdi's is fitted just after intercooler [which really makes sense]. The only problem will be with calibration which i guess can be done from within ECU or using a tuning box-like device. If you look for TECH4TDI on the net you can find some useful info and circuit schematics on how to do it.

Off topic [maybe]: I know from 2.0 hdi RHZ that has a tiny intercooler which can be changed with a larger unit from a XUD...well, the whole radiator-aircon-intercooler assembly tbh.
