That is not so easy.

When you flash your ECU,
ECU needs some time to take new calculations and to "learn" new parameters to work optimal.

I have personally flashed one single ecu for over than 200 times and I know how it goes :lol:

that is true !
I have not est myself !

I always say to my costumers to came back one week later to diagnose the car , and a week after wend I call, they sometimes say !
the car is running even better from the day we remapped .

Can I just confirm something... I know this is stupid but I need to be 100% sure...

The values in this map are 'Start of Injection' in 'Degrees BEFORE top dead centre'.

SO, increasing values retards timing, decreasing values advances.

Is this right?

I would have thought the other way around!!

Think about it logocally. As you increase the value, it is more degrees before TDC, hence you are advancing the timing. ;)

Yeah I think your right... I was thinking 'Advance' as furthur forward and 'Retard' as furthur backwards (in time).

But if you get things in 'Advance' you get them quicker, not later...

This is actually very simple math as far as I can see.

But what is benefit of doing this? Raising rail pressure and still have stock-like injections? As far as I can see you adjusted IQ back to stock based on raised common rail pressure, correct? So if we do this, you will end up with stock-like fuel quantities except that injection time will be shorter because of raised pressure, which leaves room to adjust Start Of Injection some more. Tell me if I am wrong!

I am new to this so just trying to see the point in all this :-)
