EDC16C39 - Alfa 159 JTD. Clarifications

Postby everyname » Tue Jun 24, 2014 11:57 am

I have doubts about some maps, hope you can teach me! here I go:

1C356C EGR 16x14
The values inside the map go from 3000 to 12000, do they refer just to the position of the valve, so that I can read them like 0% to 100% ?

1C4ECA IQ limiter rpm 12x1
Is that 100 mg/st limit for all RPMs? Does it make sense for an ORI map?

1CD358 Smoke limiter lower/higher 16x16
The lower the values the higher the injected quantity, right? It means that if the values are too low they will cause smoke?

1D1FDC SOI 16x16
For this map I used the factor 0,023437 and offset 0, then I see that all the values below 3000 RPM and 30mg/st are extremely high (about 1500) compared to the rest of the map (from 0 to 24). What is the meaning of this?

1D3938 pre injection 16x16
The values inside the map seems to be the Rail Pressure..is that right?

1DC0DE Injection duration 20x20
Is the Y-axis the Rail Pressure?

EGR shows desired MAF in mg.
The Smoke limiter are lambda maps. The lower the values the higher the injected quantity for the specified MAF.
You are right for the Injection duration.

Hi,
Can you, please, tell me what hardware tool you use to read/write the Alfa 159 maps?
I also own one, and I would like to start playing with it.

Any advise would be of help, even a software tool to edit the maps and how do I know to read a map?is there a list of standart parameters IDs?

Thank you in advance.
Victor

@IQ limiter rpm:
this is 1st gear limiter, if those values are higher than TL, it means, that 1st gear torque limiter are disabled.
@ Smoke limiter:
This values are in mm3 if you have bigger values, than you have more fuel acc. to air quantity. If you have lower Air to Fuel Ratio(AFR), then you have more smoke.
to calculate AFR you must calc: AFR=air quantity(mg)/IQ(mm3)*0,85 0.85 - fuel density(IQ(mm3)*0,85=IQ(mg)

hi, guys,
i have made full reverse of this ecu - talking about complete logic not damos and mappack but how functions actualy
go around the maps. If you will have specific - direct questions i can help. sure not bunch of it at once but here I am.

That is very helpful thank you!

My main issue with the ECU is that may car has the Automatic Gearbox from Aisin Warner (TF80-SC). The TCU in the gearbox activeley limits torque over 500nm so I need my ECU to report the wrong torque in order to make more. I have uprated the turbo, IC, Exhaust and all other relative hardware componenets to move from a max injection of 100mm3 to 130mm3 to aim for a target power of 650nm+ but When I have had it on a dyno its still limiting the torque.

I recently changed another map @ 1CDF5E that looked like it was limiting the injection to 100mm3 and it has made a noticable difference on the road but its hard to say if the gearbox is still limiting it or not as I cannot figure out if the engine is calculating torque correctly or not.

If I can get the engine to think it is making 500nm when its making 600nm then the gearbox will not try and limit power.

If you have any thoughts as to how to achieve my goal, I would be happy to hear them.

Thanks!
