Passat 1.9TDI AWX Manual

Hi Guys,

This is my tune for Passat 1.9TDI AWX.

I have read guides and examined tuned maps of others.

This is map I came up with.
edited maps:
Driver Wish - a bit more fuel on lower RPMs
Torque Limiter - increased limit upto 59 IQ
Smoke Limiter - Adjusted to have at least 1:17 AFR and be a bit higher than Torque Limiter Map
Injection Duration - increased axis reading a bit and some +% addition on high load (Not Sure about this map).
Target Boost - increased in high IQ range upto safe 1.5 bar
Boost Pressure Limiter - adjusted to be a bit higher than Target Boost map
N75 Duty Cycle - Opened up vanes a bit. Do I need to open up them more? what are side effects of opening vanes all the way to 100%?
EGR - All cells filled to 850 (OFF).


I want to achieve maximum power on completely stock car while staying in safe zone. also I want to make feelably faster at lower RPMs, so that driver would notice difference after tune. I'm not very interested in fuel economy.

You request 2670 mbar and you limit pressure to 2400 at 980 mbar Pam, there you`ll be, very rare above 1000. depends by your living zone.
As i see in differences, 3 mg more than original do you think that will make a difference? I`ll go with 65 mg on this engine.
Even durations are until 60 mg of fuel, extrapolate them to 65 mg and add to last column percentage of 65/60(the increase).

Thanks a lot for your replay.
Here I have increased increase boost limit @ 980 and 950 as you suggested. Here where I live atmospheric pressure is 950mbar.
You request 2670 mbar

Which map did you find 2670mbar?
Max I'm requesting is 2467 in target boost map....
I have adjusted requested target boost map axis values for higher IQ's


So here is new version and changelog:

1) Increased Boost Limit for lower atm pressure
2) Increased IQ's in all fuel maps upto 65mg
3) Re-adjusted Axis values for: Target boost map; Smoke Limiter; Injection Duration


Can I go even higher on this engine? 70mg and a 2500bar?

My bad, i was meaning 2467 request and limit at under 1000 Patm to lower :) well lower limiter.
65 mg its okay.
Make some logs and see how much airflow do you have for 2500mbar. Be sure that your turbo can handle 2500, search technical specifications i cant tell you the maximum limit, but i think will go 2500 because my small turbo gt1549v can go 2300 safe.
IF goes 2500 mbar then you`ll have on MAF around 1200 mg air well with AFR 17 you can butn 70 mg.
You can try 2500 and ~68 mg, make logs to be sure that you have that pressure, air and ACTUAL IQ(most important).

I will flash this latest revision today and do logs on Saturday, and post it here and I will do adjustments to my tune based on them.

if you have boost spikes or overboost, open n75 vanes more, but as i said you already opened them, must be fine.
Adjustments must be made based on logs : MAF, MAP AND FUEL, first of all these 3 params to be ok..after that you can measure exhaust gas temperature to be safe for turbo..duration+soi contribute to that.
