Hi everyone, I need a tune for my car. It's an Audi A4 B6 1.8T quattro, AVJ, late 2001, returnless fuel system. It already has a tune (which is not a good one - I posted a topic in "Rate my tune" subforum), but I've changed some hardware and I need a remap.
Currently the car is making about 180-190 crank hp with 0.9bar boost. My goal is about 230-250 crank hp. I know it's hard work and I'm willing to pay for a nicely done remap that tunes all the necessary maps.
Changed stuff:
- New exhaust - 64mm (2.5'') vs 52mm (2.1") stock, tuboback, no cat, 2nd lambda removed
- New turbo - hybrid K04 (stock was K03)- seller said it is larger than K04-015 and it also has a compressor from RS6 K04. Compressor maps for my engine are attached (stock K03, K04-001, K04-028) - mine should be somewhere between the two K04s.
- New intake (new turbo has a larger intake - 50mm vs 45mm). MAF not changed.
- Front mount intercooler - not installed yet, but it's a must since IATs currently rise to 70degC at WOT at highway speeds (28degC ambient).
- New 386cc@3bar injectors from Audi TT225, not installed yet - 06A906031J; Bosch number: 0280155892. My stock ones are 205cc@3bar 06B133551M; Bosch No: 0280156065. My current FPR is 4bar.
Audi injectors info- New fuel rail (not installed) with 4bar FPR with vacuum/boost control for converting the fuel system from returnless to return. Do I actually need this for my hp goal, or for any other reason?
- New Diverter valve from TT225
- New spark plugs NGK BKR7E (copper) - one step colder than my original (platinum) ones
- New strengthened clutch
- Secondary air injection system will be removed soon
Additional info:
I have VCDS and I made some readings on my old (stock hardware setup) and my new setup (the tuning file was never changed). I can post the logs and make new ones if needed. After I threw the new K04 in, I saw boost peaking at 1.2bar (still hold 0.9bar) and N75 activity was less, especially in the higher RPMs, compared to the stock K03 setup.
On the compressor maps of either K04 turbos I saw that the surge line extends way higher in the RPM range at 0.9bar boost. Currently my programmed boost starts dropping hard after 4500RPM - I think boost could be maintained at 0.8-0.9bar up to 5500RPM with my turbine, hence some more HP could be gained. A problem I have is a little rough idle - I set the idle RPM to max possible with VCDS (+50RPM) and it's better now, but I think the bad tune has something to do with idling...
That's my goal (if possible) for my new tune: I would like the engine to behave like stock below 2000RPM (0.6bar boost from as low RPM as possible - stock is 225Nm@1750RPM@0.6bar boost) and gradually go to full boost (maybe 1.2bar) at 3000RPM and hold it up to 4500RPM and go down safely before surge up to 6500RPM. I don't need my rev limiter more than 6800RPM. Any other possible tweaks like soft launch control would be appreciated.
