Bosch MED 7.6.1

Postby Fgigore » Fri Jan 16, 2015 5:51 pm

HI,
I have an Alfa Romeo 159 2.2 JTS (2005) and because i change the gearbox to have longer gears my Cruise Control it is not working in the 6-th gear. Today I was at the Alfa Romeo dealer to ask them to ''reset'' ...''re-learn'' cruise control but they said that they can not do anything because the Cruise Control is part of the ECU and they can not modify anything to fix my problem.
And they said that because I change the gear ration in the gearbox that is not matching with the ECU setting about using the Cruise Control....speed of the wheel with the speed of the car and the RPM of the engine...
And I'm asking you, what do you think that I can do and how can I re-learn the new setting for my Cruise Control to start working normally in all the gears.

P.S. I put the FIAT ECU SCAN on my car and when I drive the car....in the program I can see that I'm in the 3...4...5...gear.....but when I change it to the 6 gear it is show that I'm in neutral...so maybe that's why I can not set the Cruise Control in the 6-th gear.
Thank you.

And I would like to know more details about what type of files are in this ECU, how can I download files from this ECU, is there some kind of a simulator of ECU to start ''playing'' and learning how to modify parameters of the car....and some software specially for my cars ECU - Motronic MED 7.6.1.......?

And one more question....can somebody tell me how this ECU knows the speed of the car? - is taking this data from ABS sensors of the wheels? (because I want to understand how Cruise Control works to know what I should modify in order to fix my problem)...

Thank you all.

I think you have to modify the gear ratio for the 6. gear and then it should work again.
