Leon 1.9 fr 150

Hi all,

After trying various states of tunes on my car im uploading my latest mild tune using 65mg for feedback. I may increase fueling towards 70mg once this map is tuned correctly. The car is otherwise totally stock apart from the EGR blanked. My aim is for slightly more power but not too much that it will upset the clutch then from 2300rpm onwards for the power to increase right up to the top end of the rev range. I've tried to keep the tune safe and reliable for everyday use. Also i would like to try and work on the economy when under light throttle and cruising at constant speed.

Attached is the stock map and my modified file. I have used the 038906019MS BPX PD160 file to help with durations and other bits and pieces.

Things which have been changed are;

Drivers wish - Slight throttle response increase
Smoke map - The IQ is 1076 which for 65mg is running ok with no smoke at all. I did use 1090 but the power output was much lower and was also inconsistent.
Torque limiter - adjusted for the power curve im trying to achieve
IQ by MAP - Set at 70mg
IQ by MAF - Set at 70mg
SOI Limiter - this is the PD160 values
SOI - has been adjusted for the following;

60mg - from 1500rpm onwards i raised the values 1 degree
55mg - from 1500rpm onwards i raised the values 0.5 degree
50mg - from 1500rpm onwards i raised the values 0.2 degree

Injection durations have used from the BPX PD160 038906019MS file
Target boost - Im using 1.55 mbar - scaled to 60mg
N75 - this has been adjusted to stock spikes and boost creep, scaled to 60mg (log has been uploaded as i need help with this keeping boost under control)

What do you think? and how would you improve it? I have been running logs on VCDS which are 011, 003 and 008.

Regards

Richard.

I like this detailed explanation.
Good that you tuned and extended N75, if you dont have spikes, its good.
Smoke map good, torque(with 62 at 2000 rpm i saw spikes, you should log), you can get boost creep(uncontrollable overboost) with too much fuel in low rpm, i`m not sure in case of VNT but in case of wastegate for sure.
If you dont need more power, its okay, but I remapped a lot of PD cars 131 and 150, you can go with 70 mg and have duration up to 33 degrees, SOI its okay +1 - 2 degrees, but keep 70 from 2500 to 4000, in lower rpm its okay.
Also you put too much boost to burn all that mixture(65 mg but with that duration im not sure if will be real 65 there).
2.55 bar = ~1200+ mg air, well the final AFR is 1200 / 65, too lean. Make 70 mg - 33 duration , you will not have clutch problems if start with 2500, and keep boost as you have it.
INeverming, its a good map.

Hello Juice

Thank you for having a look at my map, I have taken everything on board you have said and have made changes to, Torque limter, n75 (for boost control - does that look about right?) Target boost is now 2500mbar, injection durations 00 01 02 are now scaled up to 70mg ready for extra fueling and to get a true 65mg from the smoke limiter and torque limiter. I can always raise up to 70mg at another time.

What do you think? it is attached, It has not been flashed onto the car yet. Only code block 2 has been modified.

Yes, now everything looks good. You can't be sure how many degrees means 70 mg of fuel.
You should calculate EOI = Duration - SOI.
In your case at 3000 rpm: 30.1 - 17.5 = 13 a little bit too much for 2.5 bar , you can try to add 1-2 more SOI but put SOI also axis to 65, to have that EOI only for full pedal mode.

"Drivers wish - Slight throttle response increase"
im decreasing it at 0-60% it gives more control when driving daily. The car after the tune is stronger and lot more "nervous" so decrease is good idea. Also it helps to keep low consumption for. In my opinion there is no point to increase Soi below 3000rpm. The car works on duration 3-5 maps in this area.
