This will be my first task as its the only one that presents me with a check engine light at the moment as I have it disconnected! ok as I understand it there are multiple tables for duty cycles, but the simple way is to flip a byte to effectively switch it off. Anywhere Ican start reading how to do this on the edc16?

the EGR map has to be made all 0s but its a crude way and not recommended. Another thing is on a test 4 Cyl engine the BSFC was better at mid engine loads when there was small amount of EGR .. its ideal to reduce the EGR map values. Complete elimination is rather risky.

Really? That is the first time I have heard someone say that before, the reason I want to turn it off is that my egr valve had jammed up previously and now I have it disconnected.

Never had problems with engine when egr has been disabled.
At my 330d edc 15 i found the value for egr off, but haven't on edc 16. Normally i replace all fields with highest value in egr duty cykle map.
