MPPS or galleto for renault

Hy all :)
a first thing I should get to be able to start modifying my maps is the hardwer, my friend had a problem with his galleto on a renault, and I read
"
Galletto 1260 partial read 40kb and
MPPS full read 256kb.
"
and i dont understand what that means. would a galleto be suficient for EGR off, and mapping or should i get the mpps

would an mpps be suficient for a 1.9 dci 88kw megane 2 2003 (still unsure which ecu it has) as I will be doing mods only on my car
I tried to read but couldnt find an answer for my level of knowledge :(

oh jeah, I would use a clone, I cant justify the price of an original for home one car use

I just ordered the V16 clone.. it can read more vehicles the v13...
