Hello from Portugal

Postby Ryo » Sun Nov 25, 2012 6:23 pm

Hello everyone,

I am from portugal, 23 years old, and currently studying automotive engineering.

Came here by a friend's suggestion, and plan to stay in order to lear about ECU Tuning, something that is not very much focused on my course, and something I am very curious about.

I have a Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8T with a Bosch ME 7.5. It's running on LPG and I would love to tune it in order to be optimized for LPG.

Cheers to everyone

Great to see some fellow compatriots!

Surelly I will as soon as I can PM you. But you have "played" around with this kind of engine? I'm asking cuz at least here It's not a very common engine :P

Wow! A real Cupra R? Ibiza Cupra R? Those that only exist 200 in the world? Nice!
Yeah well, LPG can withstand much more compression since the octane rating is around 110. But it occupies more volume inside the chamber.
The problem is LPG is controlled by a differente ECU. Wich means that the tune would have to be made like if it were to run on petrol, and then I'd have to tune the LPG ECU seperatelly.
