failed flashing ME7

Postby ing90 » Mon Sep 07, 2015 1:12 pm

Hello all,

two days ago, I wanted to flash a new dataset direct on car (Peugeot 406 Coupe V6, XFX engine). It was aborted through the "eco mode" of Peugeot at around 70%. How stupid...

So I took it on the desk and try it again. The point is now, I can read out the eeprom and I get a file (attached: FaultFlash.Bin) but it is not possible to write over a new bin file.

I work with MPPS V13. This tells me first "deleting flash" but obviously nothing happens and after a few seconds I get something like "no communication is possible".

Has anybody an idea how to solve this problem? Is there a workaround? Or do I need a new ECU?

Thanks for your help,
Ben

Try bootmode, last option is desoldering flash and programming external.

not sure it has flash

isn't it that version with CC460 ???
you can restore with original tool that support that ecu

you moded the file and not checksumed the new file ?

Thanks for your ideas. I bought today an old ECU from scrapyard and with this one, I can write my dataset.

I suppose the ECU is defect, because I used this pinout:
how-to-read-write-bosch-me7-4-6-t1773

It seems like they have changed a few pins for newer 406 (proably starting with DAM 8850). I can upload my configuration to this topic...

But now I have a problem with the immo, even if I use the original dataset, the engine will not run... Does anybody have the possibility to check my dataset? Or know the necessary bits to change?

The dataset is checksumed with MPPS V13.

Sorry for double post, but I don't find an "edit button"

I have to change the EEPROM too, from the old ECU to the new, right?

The old one is a 95160, the other one a 25C16. Does anybody know, if I can change them, even if they are not the same chips?

Thanks and Regards,
Ben

Do you have your ori file available? Recover boot -mode in bench. No need replace anything....

The problem is, I see no possibility to read out EEPRom with my equipment (MPPS V13 / PSA Diagbox). I can obtain a VAG KKL cable, maybe it is possible with it?

But idk, is it not easier to change the EEPRom then read out and write new...? I have no experience with it... Is there a risk?

I don't understand your work, what you are doing. IF its BOSCH ME7.0 ecu, just but ori back in boot -mode and drive to sundown...

Do we speak about the 512kBit flash memory or the EEPRoom (8Pin, called 25C16 or 95160)?

What I have done is to copy the original 512kBit flash to the new one. But now, I can't start the engine (because of the immo). I think I have to copy also the EEPRom, because there is stored the "key code". Is this not true?

Don't mess with eeprom, keep hands off from it. Just but ori flash file to ecu in boot -mode. These ecu's have to read/write in boot -mode. Search forum, your answers are here howto.
