I have searched hi and low about this, but haven't found.
I am about to flash my first tuned file to bmw e39 525d. The problem is that It doesn't read a full 512kb data, only 48kb partial. Is it bmw's protection or something, that doesn't allow to read? I know, the partial file is ok for tuning, but I want to protect myself having a full file which could come in handy when something goes wrong while flashing and external programmer would needed.
I am using MPPS V13 clone cable with MPPS V12 software. Is there a way to get full data with this hardware?
Thanks.

Also BMW should read fine, but only data- area and that's why file is smaller if use MPPS. You can read BMW also with galletto v3, then file size is 512kb. What is your purpose, do what need...

I heard gallettos are unstable and chance is high to unfinish writing procedure bricking ecu via OBD (probably chinese ones). Maybe flashing with chinese galletto's bdm is more reliable or better to avoid those cheap things?
I see there are many galleto products with various prices on internet. Is it possible to identify if device is OEM or chinese clone from photos?
