I think you should buy a genuine tool..

Then you have support and know that it has been tested..

If something goes wrong.. it can always be restored from someone with a bmw dealer tool. They can do emergency flash.. or find a guy who have winkfp or similar..

If you are low on money a Mpps flasher is a good starting point... it can be upgraded over time if you need to support more cars and have the bootmode option too..

Just for information. Bought cheap Galleto from ebay. Worked fine receiving 512kb file from ECU. Used with Windows 7 64bit :)
