Hi,

I have a galletto 1260 that reads edc16c34 fine, but when writing comes up 'errore setecu'.
It appears not to write any data to the ecu, and re-reading gives a full and unchanged read.
I am reading the ecu on the bench, as the car does not have k-line in the loom.(focus 1.6 tdci 110 e4)
Any ideas if this is a software problem, or is it the lack of transponder/can data causing the ecu to lock out(i had this years ago with a eec-iv ecu that would not accept key programming until it could see the airbag and abs ecu's)

Just to add, i've put the ecu back on and the car is starting fine with no fault codes, i can see in the live data there is a security access data line which is set at disabled. Is it possible that i need to do the 30min wait as with programming keys to this vehicle?

I had the same engine in a Peugeot 407 and my Galetto worked fine

Just an update!

I tried MPPS v12 with the ecu in the car, read fine then tried flashing with MPPS.
It did 1% then crashed with the attached log.
That gave me a non start, no can communication, and no read with MPPS.
I thought $h*t new ecu now needed, so put the ecu back on the bench with galletto.
Ecu id would only get 50% then read error.
Out of desperation tried bench flashing with galletto again, worked 1st time, with no errors like before.
Re read id ok, read flash, but with 131 bytes different values (1FDF7C - 1FDFFF), popped ecu back in car, starts ok, with no fault codes.
Do these different bytes matter?
I've attached all the bin files, and the MPPS log if anyone can make sense of what has happened.

On a slightly different note, the egr appears to be working slightly according to the live data, i think i may have changed the wrong egr temp hysteresis data (1C3C69 - 1C3C99), it is reduced from the previous activation but not off completely.
Any ideas if i've gone wrong?

Hello, did this ever get sorted?

I'm trying to EGR off and some other changes to my Focus (same ECU) and I just downloaded the firmware from the ECU with an ELM327 with FTDI.

I've had DPF Off done prior to this by some tuner, and comparing the existing map on the car with the original one (7M51-12A650-UF) I've come across 3 differences:

1. 7 bytes different values (07FC5 - 07FCB)

2. DPF Off switches, which is normal.

3. 132 bytes different values (1FDF7C - 1FDFFF), same as posted here.

I initially thought difference 3 was the tuner removing the DPF error codes (haven't really learned how this is done yet), however I can still find these unmodified (P2458, P2459, P242F, etc) inside the file.

I am also getting a "compatibility test checksum" different for the file downloaded from the car.

As I am currently not running the latest map for my Focus (UG being the latest) I was actually thinking about getting the changes in this new map and writing it to the car.

I'm also thinking about changing some other things in the maps, taken that I've had a mechanic diagnosing my car, who mentioned the tuner did not lower the post-injection quantity which is not really needed anymore because DPF has been removed, and I am still getting readings for the differential pressure sensors and DPF temperature sensors.

Please bare with me, as I am a beginner, I am however willing to learn and experiment.

Ok, so it seems point 3 is just a checksum.
Only difference remaining is point 1. Anyone has any ideea on what this is?
