Help Needed

Postby bifixz » Mon Dec 03, 2012 8:33 pm

Hi and greetings from Portugal,

I need to "copy" my ECU Audi A3 2.0 Tdi 2003 info because it's faulty to an other one. What is the safest way to do it and what do I need for it to work without messing the car us.

Thanks for your help,

Regards,

Hi, you have bad flash on one of the cars?
First post the cover of your ECU than the original file has to be found just for that ECU.

You can not just copy from the same care, HW/SW numbers are not same in most of cases.
If you flash it with different SW/HW numbers you can brick your ECU.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

At the moment, all I have is a faulty ECU, stopping me from starting the car, because of several errors on the VAG-COM program, specially one that does not let the engine light on the dashboard light up and starts up my car fans, going crazy.
All experts say that the problem is my faulty ECU and needs to be changed, so I'm looking for a 2 hand ECU to clone mine on to.
My ECU is 03G906016G series, actual number is 03G997016X and I've found a seller with a 03G906016FF ECU, so my ideia is to clone mine to this one.
My question is, what hardware (cables) and software (flash and copy) can I use for this and is it safe.

Thanks for your help,

Kind Regards and Greetings from Portugal

Do you have a copy of your original file before problems ?

I assume the problem occurred writing to the ecu.
So you must have the original before doing that :?:

Hi,

I dont have nothing at the moment...I'm still looking for solutions, I have VAG-COM cables/software to read the VAG errors, and I have after checking with Audi, the problem is on the ECU.

So, I need a new ECU and cables/software to clone my ECU will it still works and copy it to another one, but I suspect I have to flash it first, correct?
Where can I get BDM100 and cables, all help is appreciated

Depends if the problem is the hardware of software.
If the map is corrupt....no point copying it to another ECU.
If the ECU is faulty you probably cant read from it anyway without taking the chip out on a bench.

Hi, How do I know if the map is corrupt? It's the original for the ECU, never changed/remapped. I have cloned the ECU using BDM100 with success, but now the new (used) ECU, I have the problem that the VAG-COM/BOSCH software can't read it. Is it possible that I bough a faulty unit? Is there any way for me to test an ECU without connecting it to the car?

Any help is very much appreciated.

Good luck
