Would you prefer pumpduse or common rail?

Now CR win PD due to ecological issues. PD can't match Euro-5 and future Euro-x emission limits. Only CR with highest pressure and multistage injection allow this.
PD have good features - immediately start, fast response, run with one faulty injector etc. But his time is running out.

If PD is so less flexible and less liked etc. why is it a premium to insure compared to CR?

Insurance company just put up as much premiums as they can.

No I know it's nothing to do with it but surely if its not as flexible they wouldn't see it as a 'heavily modifiable' engine?

The new CRs develops rail pressures equal to that of PD system and can have a very fancy injection pattern with the advent of high precision piezo injectors

I prefer common rail, they run much smoother and they are not so noisy.

I will always have a love for the PD injector as it was my first real Diesel experience, we can find more power out of the engine still... so it still has a little life in it but alas it will soon be a thing of the past :(.
